Our spiritual life sometimes feels like a tangled mix of wires. We get lost in our inadequacies, shame, and guilt. These feelings can blind us from reflecting on the completed work of Jesus Christ, which makes our situation worse. The good news is that our loving Father and Lord, who saved us, doesn’t leave us alone in our struggles. He provides the clarity that we need in the midst of uncertainty. He has and does demonstrate His love so that we may be strengthened to continue our walk with Him.
Hebrews 9:14 explains this perfectly:
"How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!"
We can take courage in the truth that our heavenly Father will finish the work that He has started in us. Even though you may feel like a blind dog stumbling through the darkness, there is a God who deeply cares for you, and He is, if you call on Him, drawing you towards Himself. It is His holy word that will untangle your mix of wires. There’s no need to stumble in the darkness any longer. We can with confidence come before his throne and like Matthew 11: 25-30 (ESV) says, take up His yoke:
"At that time Jesus declared, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children; 26 yes, Father, for such was your gracious will.[g] 27 All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him. 28 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
This is a Spoonful of Courage,
